Environmentally Friendly Nitrogen
Permanent pastures of clover and ryegrass will continue to be the cornerstone of New Zealand's intensive pastoral farming, with clover providing the majority of nitrogen needed for high production.
Over the past twenty years, increasing amounts of nitrogen fertiliser have been applied to New Zealand pastures, leading many farms to rely on regular applications to sustain growth.
However, depending on nitrogen fertiliser for high pasture yield is no longer sustainable. The cost of nitrogen fertiliser will continue to rise, and its use will face increasing regulation. Maintaining clean freshwater is now crucial for producing premium quality food for international markets.
CalciZest, when applied in spring, stimulates clover growth throughout the summer, as soil temperatures rise and grasses begin to seed. Clover thrives with increased sunlight and warmer temperatures, ensuring robust pasture growth.
Application
Typically 400kg/ha provides outstanding performance.
CalciZest is recommended as part of a comprehensive nutrient programme informed by a whole-of-farm context and analysis, e.g. soil types/soil tests, visual soil assessment, paddock history/husbandry programmes, etc.
As CalciZest is a natural product, it is not possible to guarantee analysis to be absolute. Each mix produced will be such that there will be no significant difference in results obtained. This is supported by our on-farm data covering twenty years of active field research.
Calcium – Ca – 21%
Bio-carbon, min. 25%.
